Committed to the Communities We Serve
At First Commerce, we understand the importance of strong communities, and are always looking for meaningful ways to give back to the places our members live, work, and play. Of the countless ways we are involved as a local strong partner in the communities we serve, First Commerce has proudly supported the efforts of Big Bend Hospice, which serves eight counties in our region. Through our support over the years, we have touched the lives of many individuals and their families who have relied on the compassionate care provided by Big Bend Hospice’s skilled team. In recent years, our Senior Executive Vice President Greg Adams has also served as a volunteer on the Big Bend Hospice Foundation Board of Trustees. First Commerce recently announced that we have committed $1 million over the next 20 years to help establish the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH), serving people across our region. Through this $5 million center, patients with advanced stages of illness who are too fragile to receive hospice care outside of a hospital setting will soon have access to state-of-the-art care and services from the Big Bend Hospice team in a peaceful, home-like setting within TMH during their final days – a priceless gift to help ease one of the most difficult times of their lives, along with their loved ones.More FCCU in the Community
People Helping People
Once completed, the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care will offer eight modern patient rooms decorated with home furnishings, beautiful artwork created by local artists and comfortable surroundings. One of the rooms can be converted to accommodate pediatric patients if needed, and two will have the ability to isolate patients with airborne diseases to avoid the risk of exposure. We are incredibly proud First Commerce could help lead the way with this foundational gift to bring this vision to life, joining with other organizations and individual donors throughout our community. After the opening anticipated later this year, we know this special addition to our community will touch the lives of countless people for many years to come. It will also stand as a shining example of the credit union philosophy – People Helping People.
